1. Guess Who?
What you’ll need:
- Baby photo of each guest, numbered
- Numbered blank lists, one for each guest
- Pens or pencils
How to play:
With this game, when you send the invitations out, ask everyone to bring a baby photo of themselves. Ask your guests to bring a picture of themselves of when they were a baby.
When your guests arrive collect each photo, when you’re ready to begin playing your game place the pictures around the room with a number associated to each picture. Give each of your guests a number sheet and they work their way round the room guessing who is each picture.
This game is really good to get the room talking and everyone mingling!
2. Fishing for dummies
What you’ll need:
- Large plastic tub or baby bath
- 10-15 dummies
- Prizes (optional)
How to Play:
Fishing for dummies is very similar to hook a duck, firstly you will want to fill your large plastic stub or baby bath with water. You will then want to create some fishing rods out of bamboo canes, string and some non sharp hooks.
Let your guests fish out the dummies, you can have good and bad prizes with numbered dummies so it makes the game more fun. Once you have finished playing the game be sure to wash and sterilize the dummies and give them to the mum to be as a little present and keep sake memory from the party.
3. Find the guest
What you’ll need:
- Pen and paper for each guest
- Computer and printer, or photocopier
How to play:
This game takes a little bit of work prior to the party, make a list of all the guests attending the party and make some fun notes of each of the guests. Type up these fun facts without saying which fact belongs to which guest. Print these sheets off and hand them to your guests as they arrive, once everyone has arrived they will all have to get to know each other a bit better in order to figure out which fact belongs to which guest. You can always set a timer to make it more fun and intense and at the end the gust with the most correct answers is the winner.
4. Don’t say baby
What you’ll need:
- 5 clothes pegs per guest
How to play:
This game is very simple as each guest arrives hand them 5 pegs with the simple rule of not saying the word “baby.” Make sure your guests keep their ears open, and if they hear anyone say the word ‘baby,’ they get to take away one of that person’s clothes pegs. The person with the most pegs left at the end of the shower is the winner.
This game is good fun and encourages your guests to mingle, also you may also find some cute nicknames to call her bundle of joy!
